You know something, Lee, I agree with you here. I've also written with Ed Finn popularly about guns, and anyone who knows me knows that I lament our distance from the time that a mainstream STS scholar like Dot Nelkin could write about housing as a tech policy issue. And if you took a closer look at the Cozzens and Wetmore volume of the dreaded Yearbook series, you would see that one of their major points, and of the work that came out of it, was that nano was in essence guilty of what you're accusing us doing -- promising huge benefits through innovation for poor folks while really just delivering benefits for rich folks. So how about not using us a stalking horse for what the rest of the field is not doing?
